Winter League 2025

League shooting is done on Wednesdays & Thursdays, 5:00-10:00 pm (last squad MUST be ON THE LINE by 9:30 pm).

The club opens for practice on Sundays 12:30-5:00 pm starting Dec 1.
Cost

Per person: $385 ($75 Membership + $310 Shooting Fee)
Per team: $250 Sponsorship
Grand total for a 6-person team: $2,560
Entire team fee must be received in order to lock in your team’s spot
League Format

The first five weeks are used for handicapping; all shooters will shoot a total of 50 targets: 25 targets from the 16-yd line and 25 targets from the 24-yd line. During this first five weeks, a shooter may shoot ahead or from behind.

Once the first five weeks are complete, teams are classified by ability:

AAA teams shoot from the 16/27 yard lines

AA teams shoot from the 16/26 yard lines

A teams shoot from the 16/25 yard lines, etc.

During the final nine weeks, shooters may only shoot ahead — not behind — the listed schedule.

Teams consist of a minimum of five shooters and a maximum of six. Each week the low score on six-man teams will be discarded. On five-man teams, all scores are recorded.

During team-to-team competition weeks, wins are awarded two points and ties are awarded one point. At the end of the nine competition weeks, all ties for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will shoot off to determine a winner.

The field is limited to 80 teams so shooting can be completed in a timely matter.

Only one sign-up sheet may be submitted per person.

Shooters may only shoot on one team.

Shooters must sign a 2025 Waiver and Release of Liability prior to shooting in 2025.

Entire team fee must be paid in full in order to lock in your team’s spot. Sponsorship fees are not refundable at any time. No refunds are given once league commences.

NO substitution of team members unless in the case of illness or injury; the substitute must be approved by FVCTC Board of Directors. Violation of this rule will result in the team being disqualified from Winter League.

Shooting may be cancelled due to extreme weather conditions. Make plans to shoot ahead if necessary. No scoring adjustments will be made for weather closures. Check www.flatheadtrapclub.org or facebook.com/fvctc for closure announcements.

Shoot with your team! Teams must have more than half of its shooters shooting together to avoid the $5 misfit fee.

Eye and ear protection must be worn on the trap field: 1st offense, warning; 2nd offense, black 50 for the shooter that week.

Know your shotgun! Walking off with someone else’s shotgun will result in a penalty (to be determined)

Shoot-offs are subject to additional target fees.

Do not tip the trap help prior to shooting your round.

All adult beverages cannot leave the porch.

No picking up of empty hulls on the trap fields.

All new shooters to Winter League must attend a safety and etiquette orientation. Three dates are available: Nov 9, 16 and 23, 7:00-9:00 pm
